Keshika De Saram is the 61st National President of the AIAS. He just completed his Masters degree at the University of Minnesota, having spent his time in school focusing on community engagement in the design process. Growing up in four vastly different places—Sri Lanka, Hong Kong, North Dakota, and Minnesota—Keshika has become passionate on how architecture and design can tell people’s unique stories and facilitate conversations about equity and opportunity. He sees how the architecture profession’s community impact can be shaped by the individuality of the creative thinkers that it is made up of.
