Uptown is defined as the areas South & West of Downtown and Interstate 94. The hot areas are between Franklin Ave. (2000) & Lake Street (3000) on Hennepin S & Lyndale S Avenues, Uptown also includes Eat Street (Nicollet Avenue). Uptown is a great place for young professionals, stylish 20-somethings, and older-upscales. It is probably the most liberal and artsy part of the city; a place where you can go to be accepted and not overwhelmed by activity. It is home to the beautiful chain of lakes (Calhoun, Isles, Cedar, Harriet) and many urban recreational activities.
