Call for Applications: AIAS Research Fellowship Series

AIAS/AIA COTE Summer Research Fellowship

The AIA Committee on the Environment (COTE) is sponsoring a $1,500 Summer Research Fellowship for one AIAS student member to engage in 40-60 hours of research and project work from June-August 2008 (exact timing will be arranged once Fellowship recipient is selected).

This year, we will be asking the student to conduct research into the COTE Top Ten Measure and Metrics around WATER, using past Top Ten winning projects. The work will likely include contact with architecture firms and other consultants as well as building owners; charting of metrics over time; development of graphics or spreadsheets in order to compare results; and drafting of a summary report about the work.

Research Fellowship work will be done remotely, at the student's place of summer residence, and will be overseen by COTE member Alexis Karolides of the Rocky Mountain Institute. Hours are flexible and will be coordinated between the research fellow and the AIA COTE.
