SUMMARY:Taking Action: Make Your Voice Heard
DESCRIPTION:Webinar Description: \nThe world has changed. Making our voices heard is more important than ever.  Building relationships with elected officials and exerting influence on the governmental and political spheres is critical to solving the climate crisis\, confronting racial inequality\, and addressing the mounting student debt problem. At this session you will learn the importance of legislative engagement at all levels of government and learn how to create winning messages that help you clearly communicate the things that are important to you in a way that resonates with others. There will be plenty of time for Q&A\, so bring your questions as we explore advocacy\, leadership\, and how to get started. \nSpeaker: \nCindy Schwartz\, Managing Director of Advocacy and Operations at The American Institute of Architects (AIA). \nCindy Schwartz came to the AIA in February 2015 and is the Managing Director of Advocacy and Operations. She has over 30 years of political\, legislative\, and non-profit management experience gained working on federal and state campaigns. She has worked for national organizations like the League of Conservation Voters\, Physicians for Human Rights\, and the US Campaign to Ban Landmines\, and at the state level as the Executive Director of the Maryland League of Conservation Voters\, and as a consultant to the Port of Baltimore.Cindy is responsible for developing and managing AIA member outreach and engagement programs that encourage AIA’s nearly 95\,000 members to engage in legislative and political advocacy at the national\, state\, and local level. She is married\, has a son at the State University of New York\, University at Albany\, who is studying political science\, and a dog that she adores. \nRegistration will close at 6pm EST on 3/10 \nregistrants will receive an email with the Zoom link prior to the session \n Register Now!
