Each month, the AIAS highlights the outstanding dedication and accomplishments of one of its members. The Chapter Leader of the Month can be a Chapter President or any member who has shown tremendous leadership.

Elizabeth Pernicek is in her first year of her Master of Architecture degree at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. She recently graduated in May with her BSD: Architecture and is currently studying abroad in London as part of her graduate program. Prior to going abroad, she was the UNL AIAS chapter’s secretary from 2022-2024 and the NCARB Liaison from 2023-2024. In her time with AIAS, Elizabeth was active with the revitalization of the organization after COVID, the promotion of the AIA Mentorship Program, and the coordination of firm and construction site visits for all year levels within the program.

Here is what William Roarty, who recommended her as Chapter Leader of the Month, has to say about Elizabeth:

“Elizabeth has been an outstanding member of my Executive Board. This semester she has organized and led multiple tours including a downtown architecture walk here in Lincoln and recently two tours of the New Kiewit Hall Engineering building.
She has been an instrumental member of our chapter and I can’t wait to see what else we are able to accomplish this semester. Thank you Elizabeth!”
