Each month, the AIAS highlights the outstanding dedication and accomplishments of one of its members. The Chapter Leader of the Month can be a Chapter President or any member who has shown tremendous leadership.

Elizabeth Cremeans is currently the treasurer and fundraising chair for the University of Minnesota chapter. In these positions she has worked closely with the rest of the board to revive and create a thriving chapter. She has worked to secure funding and donations for the year’s ambitious event schedule and has increased fundraising income by over 500%. Elizabeth has enjoyed getting to connect with her peers across the program years and work to keep the chapter strong in the future. She also serves on the AIAS Student Health and Wellbeing Task Force.

“This is Elizabeth’s first year on the AIAS board as chapter treasurer, and she has exceeded all expectations. In addition to excelling in her role, she has taken on extra responsibilities as our fundraising coordinator and “travel agent,” organizing a fully funded trip for 12 members to the FORUM Conference in Austin. She also sits on the Student Health & Wellbeing Task Force and is always bringing new ideas to our chapter. While tackling the chapter duties, she also manages her land care job and her academics flawlessly. She is highly organized and on top of grants deadlines and funding that allows our chapter to put on events for our members. Last year, we were only able to fundraise $25 due to an inactive board; however, this year she was able to organize a fundraiser and study night that helped us raise over $200 for the chapter. Her dedication and positive attitude have driven our membership growth from 11 to 40 members. She is incredibly dedicated and always does more than she is asked. I am incredibly thankful for her help on the board, and she is more than deserving of this award”, said Isabel Conway, the Chapter President at UMN, and the nominator for Elizabeth.
