Every place tells a story in layers. Architecture becomes the next chapter.
Albuquerque is a city shaped by layers of history, culture, and design. From Pueblo architecture and Spanish Colonial forms to Territorial influences, Modernism, and contemporary Southwestern design, the city’s built environment reflects the people, traditions, and landscapes that have shaped it over time.
The theme of FORUM 2027 | STRATA, invites us to explore the layers of place, culture, memory, and environment that influence architecture and the communities we create. Through conversations, experiences, and exploration, we will examine how the past informs the present and how today’s designers can build thoughtfully upon these foundations to shape the future.
Every place has a story. What will our generation add to it?
