Washington, DC – October 23, 2026 — The American Institute of Architecture Students (AIAS) is excited to announce a new collaboration with Trimble, bringing together two organizations committed to supporting the next generation of design professionals through technology, education, and meaningful industry engagement.
Through the new collaboration, AIAS and Trimble will connect architecture students with educational resources, digital workflow insights, technology, and professional development opportunities designed to support their growth from the classroom into professional practice.
Technology continues to play an increasingly important role in how architects explore ideas, communicate designs, collaborate with project teams, and bring projects to life. Through this collaboration, AIAS members will have opportunities to engage with Trimble and its technologies, including Trimble SketchUp® 3D design software, while building greater familiarity with the tools and workflows shaping contemporary architectural practice.
“Part of our responsibility at AIAS is making sure students have opportunities to engage with the tools, resources, and industry leaders they will encounter throughout their careers,” said Kimberly Tuttle, AIAS Executive Director. “We’re excited to welcome Trimble to the AIAS community and create new ways for our members to strengthen their digital skills, explore emerging workflows, and connect what they are learning in school with the future of architectural practice.”
A New Benefit for AIAS Members – Coming Soon
One of the first initiatives of the collaboration will be the launch of a new benefit for AIAS members, providing access to discounted pricing on eligible Trimble SketchUp Education offerings.
Trimble has recently launched a new offering for education licensing, which will serve as the foundation for the new AIAS member benefit. AIAS will share additional information about available offerings, eligibility, and how members can access their dedicated benefit.
AIAS members should keep an eye on their inboxes and AIAS social channels in the coming weeks for official communication.
More Than a Member Benefit
The new collaboration extends beyond software access. Throughout the 2026-2027 academic year, AIAS and Trimble plan to introduce students to technology, digital design workflows, visualization, and emerging trends affecting the profession through contributed content.
Trimble will also engage directly with the AIAS community through national programming and educational initiatives, including participation at AIAS FORUM 2027 in Albuquerque, New Mexico, where students will have opportunities to connect with Trimble representatives and learn more about the technology and workflows influencing architectural practice.
“At Trimble, we are deeply committed to empowering the next generation of architects and design professionals using advanced technology and workflows that help to bring their creative vision into reality,” said Amy Northcutt, Director of Education & Outreach at Trimble. “By joining forces with AIAS, we believe we can help to bridge the gap between students’ academic learning and future professional practice, allowing them to step confidently into their future careers.”
This collaboration reflects AIAS’ continued commitment to connecting architecture students with companies and organizations that are actively shaping the future of the profession, and creating opportunities for students to learn from them along the way.
