Hello wonderful AIAS leaders, and WELCOME to the 2018-2019 Council of Presidents!
As your 2018-2019 National President, I am unbelievably excited to welcome you to this crucial and powerful branch of our organization. As a Chapter President, you have an exciting opportunity to represent your chapter members within our larger national conversations at two Council of Presidents (CoP) meetings this year – the first one will take place in just a few short weeks at the 2018 Grassroots Conference and the other will take place at the 2018 Forum in Seattle!
*Your voices are elevated at these meetings, and each and every one of you has a unique perspective on the issues facing the AIAS today, so it is important that you know how to leverage them efficiently and effectively.*
In order to help you prepare for our upcoming CoP meeting at Grassroots, our outgoing National President Keshika de Saram has eloquently illustrated everything that you need to know in a handy “How to Participate in the Council of Presidents” video. Please take some time to watch the video (linked below) prior to our meeting on Sunday, July 22nd at 8:30 am in the AIA Board Room. This will help familiarize you with the structure of the meeting and hopefully show you just how paramount your voice is in this context!
