Introducing the 2024-2025 AIAS Board of Directors! These folks worked hard during FORUM from January 4-7 giving speeches, meeting Chapter leaders, and hosting meet-and-greets to earn the votes of our Council of Presidents. They now embark on a transition journey that will last until Grassroots this summer when they are officially inaugurated on the first night on the conference. And what a conference! Elections were held for the first time for three new positions – the brand new Secretary/Treasurer position, and both Regional Director positions were changed to be elected rather than appointed during this election cycle. Please join me in giving these people a big round of applause!

Our Board of Directors is a student-majority group of (mostly) volunteers who meet throughout the year to conduct the business of the AIAS. Our Quad/Regional Directors are all currently students or within their first year post-graduation, while our President and Vice President (together referred to as ‘Officers’) are full-time employees of the organization who work in the National Office alongside the staff and the Executive Director. After their term ends, our President serves an additional term as Past President, which includes duties as Parliamentarian and Elections Chair. We also have four Liaisons to our Allied Organizations on our Board of Directors – AIA, ACSA, NCARB, and NOMA. Our Liaisons serve three-year terms and keep us updated on the happenings of their respective organizations and provide the voice of the members they represent. Our Executive Director is an ex-officio (non-voting) member of the Board. If you are interested in being on our Board, you only have to wait 365 short days until the election next year! Elections for the 2025-2026 Board of Directors will be held at our in-person FORUM conference in January 2025.
