Each year the AIAS works to address issues impacting students across the organization with help from our dedicated members through our committees and task forces. These members bring their different perspectives and experiences together and empower one another to lead us into a healthier, accessible, inclusive, more sustainable, and resilient future. Over the past few months there has been a resounding effort from professionals and students alike to speak up and speak louder than ever to make necessary change in our communities. The 2020-2021 Board of Directors is ready to get to work as we move into this next year and continue to fight for what we believe in alongside the membership on this year’s committees.

After the incredible resources and content that was created, as well as the insightful discussion and research that was done this past year, this year’s committees have been set up for success. While the ways we do it may look a bit different, the mission will always be the same. There is no one way to be a leader and advocate and there are so many opportunities to use your voice and make a difference. No matter what you are passionate about there is a committee for everyone, so please read through the 2020-2021 Committees and Task Forces Packet, as many charges, deliverables, and even some committees have changed.

Joining a committee, taking on a new leadership position, or running for the board are all great ways to take action and aid in the effort to better your school, this organization, the profession, and the world! No matter what your leadership journey has looked like, or even if you’re just getting started, we would love to have you and welcome you to join the team!
