CALLING ALL ADVOCATES! The AIAS is proud to announce the launch of the AIAS Advocates Program – an application-based program geared towards showcasing and providing platforms for you, our members, to speak up and speak loud about niched advocacy topics and initiatives. The AIAS Advocates Program will run on a calendar-year schedule, similar to the AIAS CRIT Journal. The concept for this program was inspired by Shoaib Nizami, a deaf architecture student from the University of Houston, and last year’s inaugural group of Advocates have helped perfect how to mix the AIAS’ resources with the passion of our members for an impactful result.
PROGRAM BENEFITS
- A 5-minute presentation during a General Session at Grassroots 2020
- A ~45-minute session slot during FORUM 2020 (Chicago)
- Opportunities to showcase content on the @aias_advocacy and @aiasorg Instagram throughout the year
- The opportunity to create a short video showcasing Advocacy topic that will be presented in tandem with the Grassroots Presentation AND published on AIAS website
- Check-ins on an every other month basis with AIAS National to determine how we can connect professionals and resources related to Advocacy topic with you
- The opportunity to curate a presentation or engagement endeavor at FORUM Toronto
- Complimentary registration to Grassroots 2020 and FORUM 2020
HOW TO APPLY
In order to apply to be an AIAS Advocate for the 2020-2021 year, please send the following materials as one .zip attachment to President Sarah Curry at president@aias.org by 11:59pm EST on February 15th:
- 1-2 Page Resume
- Letter of intent
- Some form of media/multimedia material that highlights what you are advocating for (video, short slideshow, graphics, infographic, presentation, etc.)
