Join us for an evening of discussing the challenges and strategies of searching for a job during these uncertain times! We’ve pulled together Architecture Career Advisors from around the country to update us on the job market in their regions and answer questions from you about networking and securing employment during quarantine. AIAS South Quad Director, Kyra Stark, will be your moderator, and attendees will have the chance to ask their own questions directly to the panelists. Everyone’s invited! You do not need to be an AIAS member to register and attend.

Here’s a little more info about our panelists:

Crystal Jalil
Crystal Jalil is the Career Services Specialist for the College of Architecture, Design and Construction at Auburn University. She has ten years of experience in Higher Education, with eight of those years being in Career Services. Crystal specializes in cultivating relationships with employers in the industries she serves and connecting them to candidates in both skill level and cultural fit. In addition, she is highly skilled in assisting students with resumes and cover letters, mock interviews, career search strategies, best practices in networking and preparation for career fairs.

Kristen Frambes
Kristen Frambes is the Director of Alumni & Professional Relationships for the School of Architecture. In this role, she serves as the school’s career development and alumni relations director; directs and manages work study students; coordinates school awards for students, faculty, and alumni; coordinates faculty promotion and tenure cases; and manages special events for the school.

Takisha Wilson
Takisha Wilson is a member of the Career Counseling Team at the University of the District of Columbia. The Career Counseling Team provides career counseling services to students and alumni both individually and in groups on a variety of career planning, career readiness, and career opportunities topics. Additionally, this team conducts career workshops for groups of students on a variety of career development topics.

Jen Smith
Jen Smith, MPA, is a Senior Career Advising Liaison for University of Idaho’s College of Art & Architecture and an adjunct instructor of business management. As a career advisor, she helps design students and alumni confidently communicate their skills and experiences gained both in and outside of the studio. Jen enjoys coaching others on practical steps they can take to develop a personal brand, search and apply for jobs or internships, and make meaningful connections with architects and other design professionals.
