Each month, the AIAS highlights the outstanding dedication and accomplishments of one of its members. The Chapter Leader of the Month can be a Chapter President or any member who has shown tremendous leadership.

 

   

December 2023 Chapter Leader of the Month: Taylor Beth Huff

University of Kentucky

My name is Taylor-Beth Huff and I am a third year architecture student at the University of Kentucky. I have had the great honor to serve as the UK’s AIAS President for the 2023-24 school year. This year I made it my goal to expand AIAS and make it a vital part of every architecture student’s college career. We absorbed the Beaux Arts Ball and Mentor by Design programs into AIAS as additional components to serve our students.

Through AIAS, we have given students networking and enrichment opportunities through various programs such as a Cincinnati Day Trip to visit over 10 different firms, a Pence Hall Homecoming celebration with professionals and alumni, architectural review practice, and more. We also had the special opportunity this year to give back to our community through CANstruction which we partnered with a local architecture firm to complete. Overall, this semester has been so successful and I can’t wait for next semester’s programming!
