January 2016 Chapter Leader of the Month: Shannon Haley
Roger Williams UniversityEach month, the AIAS highlights the outstanding dedication and accomplishments of one of its members. The Chapter Leader of the Month can be a Chapter President or any member who has shown tremendous leadership. Congratulations to the January 2016 Chapter Leader of the Month, Shannon Haley!
Shannon Haley is junior at Keene State College where she is studying for a Bachelor of Science degree in Architecture. Shannon’s current role is Vice President of the school’s AIAS Chapter, but she has been serving at acting President while the Chapter President has been studying abroad.
Jacob Myers serves on the chapter’s board in public relations and says Shannon has been able to organize many different events and activities during the semester. Jacob says these events range from “a Department Social to fundraising events to organizing the sending eight of our members to FORUM this year.”
Northeast Quad Director Rachel Law says Shannon and the chapter’s president have worked hard to bring growth and momentum to the chapter. “As a Vice President, Shannon has stepped up and taken on larger leadership responsibilities yet also allowing her board and her members to become more involved in event planning,” says Law. “She is very optimistic and passionate about AIAS and I see a bright future for her and AIAS KSC!”
Shannon is proud of the chapter and says although they are small, “We are more involved than ever in AIAS events, and it’s great to be a part of such a dynamic and passionate group as we have here at Keene State.”
After graduation, Shannon plans on attending graduate school to become a licensed architect and advance her role in the profession. She is also looking forward to this spring when she will be studying abroad in Florence for the semester with some other AIAS members.
