Each month, the AIAS highlights the outstanding dedication and accomplishments of one of its members. The Chapter Leader of the Month can be a Chapter President or any member who has shown tremendous leadership. Congratulations to the May 2019 Chapter Leader of the Month, Haley Rogers.

Haley Rogers is going into her third-year architecture student at Bowling Green State University. Haley currently serves as the Chapter President which began in February 2019 and she served as Chapter Vice President from February 2018 to February 2019.

Haley fell in love with AIAS the moment she started at BGSU. She loved the leaders that were on the executive board for her chapter at the time and the goals and values that AIAS had in place. From the first day, she became involved within her chapter, doing small design competitions, fundraisers, social activities, lectures, anything and everything AIAS had going on, she was there. Their chapter really strives to help with professional development and the well-rounded growth of a future architect. Her chapter hosts their own co-op fair and last fall, November 2018, they had a great turn out from students and attending firms. They are planning  to host again in November 2019. Aside from professional development, the chapter’s goal is to really help students within architecture school from the beginning. They strive to have small workshops throughout the year and they will be starting a mental health initiative starting in August 2019 when classes start back up.

Adam Fogel Midwest Quad Director says that Haley has been so great to work with during the semester. “BGSU’s chapter runs on a yearly calendar so Haley began her presidency in February. She has been super engaged in the Midwest and is able to use her excitement about AIAS to excite and empower students not only within her own chapter, but the quad as a whole,” says Adam.

Haley is very grateful for the AIAS Chapter at BGSU! She works alongside a very committed executive board who are as dedicated as she is, a supportive faculty advisor, and active members throughout! She was so proud when BGSU AIAS was able to bring 20 students to Midwest Quad at the University of Kentucky this past April!

Haley is looking forward to this upcoming school year and AIAS year. AIAS BGSU has so much growth and opportunity and she is excited to be apart of that expansion and development.
