Think that since it’s close to the end of the school year, it’s no longer worth becoming an AIAS member? Think again! There are so many reasons to become a member, if you aren’t one already. Check out the a plethora of reasons below.

Honor Awards

Get the recognition that you and your chapter deserve by applying for the AIAS Honor Awards.  Recognize the outstanding achievements by your fellow students, educators, and practitioners who have exhibited an exemplary commitment to the enhancement of the educational experience and the development of architecture students. Check them out, nominate someone (or yourself) today! Deadline: May 26, 2017

Grassroots

Okay. So you technically don’t have to be a member to attend Grassroots, but it’s cheaper if you are! Plus, it’s a great opportunity to dive deeper into your involvement with AIAS. You don’t have to be a part of your chapter’s executive board to attend either. While we do have tracks that cover Leadership and Freedom by Design, there are also tracks on Career, Lifestyle and Innovation. Register by May 1, 2017 to snag Early Bird pricing!

CRIT Live

Show off some of the awesome work and research you’ve been doing this year! The AIAS is seeking members who wish to present their finished research or in-progress research at any of the four CRIT Live events. They’ll be at the following locations:

  • Northeast Quad: Cornell University (Ithaca, NY)
  • South Quad: Georgia Institute of Technology (Atlanta, GA)
  • Midwest Quad: University of Cincinnati (Cincinnati, OH)
  • West Quad: University of Arizona (Tucson, AZ)

Submit your work to do a full presentation of your work, be part of a panel or a project-based “Pechakucha”-style presentation. Plus, selected presenters will receive comped entry to the event. Deadline: May 26, 2017

CRIT Journal

Showcase your writing or work from studio by submitting it to CRIT! As a journal, CRIT contains content that is academic in nature, with essays, articles, and projects that provoke thought and encourage dialogue. To potentially have your work included in the Summer 2017 edition, please submit work no later than April 15, 2017.

Competitions

We’ve got so many competitions, it’s crazy!
