Have you registered for Grassroots 2020? This year is only $50 for members to register before the Early Bird Deadline (Extended to July 19th). But if $275 worth of content for only 50 bucks isn’t enough to convince you to attend, here are ten reasons why you should join us for this year’s conference!

1. Reconnect with your AIAS Fam!

Although we can’t meet in person and grab a bite to eat, we can still reconnect with friends that live across the country. Each day, there will be networking breakout rooms that give our attendees the opportunity to say hi to old friends and make some new connections too!

2. Learn how to run your chapter in a completely virtual or hybrid setting.

With most schools and universities moving completely online or adjusting their student organization gathering policies for the fall semester, you will need to arm yourself with the tools to run a successful chapter in this new environment. Some questions that we will answer include: What does a virtual membership look like? How to lead a discussion about AIAS Chapter Bylaws. & What are some ways to manage chapter finances post-covid?

3. Hear from the 2020-2021 Advocates!

Each of their focuses is unique! They all have a story to tell and they want to share their interest with you, our membership! Don’t forget to follow the AIAS Advocacy Instagram account @aias_advocacy so you don’t miss a thing.

4. Learn how to start a Freedom By Design Program at your chapter.

Freedom By Design is a great opportunity for your chapter to serve the community. In an age of multiple pandemics, join us to learn how to serve while socially distant and speak up about the issues that matter!

5. Learn about next year’s committees and how to get involved at the national level.

The AIAS has a lot of ways that you can get involved at the national level including committees, event planning teams, and programs. Hear from the incoming board of directors about why they got involved and how you can too!

6. Meet your 2020-2021 Board of Directors!

Say hi to the next group of leaders that were chosen by you to serve for the 2020-2021 year! Learn more about them and hear what they have planned for the upcoming year!

7. Get some Advocacy Training under your belt.

Similar to Student Hill Day, this advocacy training will extend beyond the AIAS! Learn more about what advocacy is, why it’s important, and how to advocate for what’s important to you.

8. Listen to some great keynote speakers!

Every year, the AIAS brings you innovative individuals and this year is no different. Read about all our keynote speakers in the blog post.

9. Roll Call!

No AIAS conference would be complete without Roll Call! Be sure to read the blog post to learn about deadlines, requirements, etc.

10. Attend – It’s easy as pie!
