Welcome to the 2024 Northeast Quad Conference – “DES[ai]GN”!
The theme of this years Northeast Quad Conference is, DES[AI]GN: Artificial Intelligence in Architecture. Carnegie Mellon is the place where Artificial Intelligence (AI) was invented more than half a century ago, giving us an obligation to explore and expand its new frontiers.
The theme of AI in design recognizes the city of Pittsburgh’s historical significance as an industrial powerhouse and its current aspirations to reinvent itself as a hub of innovation and technology. By highlighting the intersection of AI and architecture, we will delve into how AI is reshaping the design process, urban planning, and construction practices, ultimately influencing the architectural renaissance of Pittsburgh and beyond.
DES[AI]GN will provide attendees with a comprehensive understanding of how AI is revolutionizing the architectural field and its impact on Pittsburgh’s urban fabric. By exploring the intersections of technology, design, and culture, we aim to inspire and empower architects, urban planners, and AI enthusiasts to shape a future where AI-driven architecture enhances the city’s livability, sustainability, and cultural vibrancy.
