Washington, DC – January 15th, 2020 – Throughout the past several years, the AIAS has relied heavily on in-person events to provide our members an opportunity to connect, engage, and interact with one another. . The COVID-19 pandemic has provided a unique opportunity to re-visit how AIAS delivers high-quality and relevant programming, as well as finding innovative and creative ways to connect members and provide impactful experiences in a virtual and hybrid environment.

As we continue to develop ways to promote membership value and increase engagement and interaction among members, the AIAS will be bringing back THRIVE: A Career Prep Program this spring! THRIVE is formerly known as the bi-annual, live day-long event of educational sessions that members would attend at local AIAS chapters to learn more about tips and tricks for thriving in the profession. Instead of one live event per semester, THRIVE will now be hosted as a bi-weekly webinar series on Wednesday evenings and will include topics beyond career prep including advocacy, committee led discussions, leadership, and design sessions.

Our first THRIVE webinar, Alternative Careers in Architecture, will be held Wednesday January 27th at 7pm EST. It will also be FREE to all members and nonmembers! Please see the description listed below:

An architectural education prepares students for a variety of career opportunities within the field, as well as outside of the traditional realm of the profession. Join the AIAS for a panel discussion with professionals who have taken non-traditional career paths and hear how their education and experience in architecture helped them get to where they are now.
