Each month, the AIAS highlights the outstanding dedication and accomplishments of one of its members. The Chapter Leader of the Month can be a Chapter President or any member who has shown tremendous leadership.

Diego Corona is currently a fourth-year student at California Baptist University. He joined Cal Baptist’s AIAS Chapter in its inaugural year and served as a Class Representative for two years before transitioning into Chapter Vice President and now current Chapter President.

As Chapter President, Diego has worked with his board to restructure the way his chapter communicates through developing a new website and creating membership brochures. Under his leadership, interest in events has increased. As a result, he helped envision and co-sponsor Cal Baptist’s first ever Beaux Arts Ball and Studio Awards Ceremony.

West Quad Director Caitlin Kessler said that Diego continues to help lead his chapter to so many of their successes this year. Diego has established well-balanced events and has even advocated for the chapter’s very own podcast. He also advocated receiving funding for his chapter leaders to attend the AIAS Grassroots Leadership Conference. “Diego is making sure the Cal Baptist University membership is getting the most out of AIAS,” said Caitlin.

Diego’s refreshing leadership style will leave a lasting effect on AIAS Cal Baptist and its members. Jacob Slagill, AIAS Past Chapter President, explains how Diego has brought a renewed sense of purpose to the AIAS Chapter this year. “He has taken everything we started in the last couple of years and multiplied it to create a much more robust plan for our chapter,” said Jacob.

Diego believes in structured, diverse leadership where every voice is heard and where people come first. This belief will inevitably lead to many successfully AIAS leaders after him.
