Each month, the AIAS highlights the outstanding dedication and accomplishments of one of its members. The Chapter Leader of the Month can be a Chapter President or any member who has shown tremendous leadership.

Taylor Chadwick is currently enrolled at Washington State University and in the 2017-2018 school year, she served as her school’s AIAS Chapter President.

As Chapter President, Taylor along with her board spoke about AIAS in every studio and was able to successfully build their chapter’s membership from 7 to 50 members in just one year. During her year in office, she also started a coffee stand in her department which helped raise AIAS awareness and funds for the chapter. Taylor helped set up a student mentorship program in which upperclassmen mentored lowerclassmen. The program was a success and over 60 students from the department attended.

Dominic Armendariz West Quad Director says that Taylor and her team set ambitious, blue-sky goals and poured their passions and energy into achieving them. “The many accomplishments of her chapter and the emerging student leaders who are following in her footsteps are a testament to her remarkable leadership ability,” says Dominic.

Caitlin Kessler 2017-2018 West Quad Director says that Taylor has been a joy and inspiration to work with this past year. “By focusing on the quality of events and resources for the WSU AIAS chapter, the number of members grew to an unprecedented amount – it was incredible to see! They say communication is key, but so is commitment. Taylor went above and beyond in demonstrating both, and the chapter will continue to flourish because of the foundation she and her board established this year,” says Caitlin

Taylor is looking forward to accomplishing even more in the year ahead. She would like to start a Freedom by Design chapter, create a newsletter to showcase students’ work and continue to fundraise.
