Calling all AIAS members! We have some important news to share with you.
Starting October 1st, our membership dues will increase from $47 to $55. We want to explain why this adjustment is necessary and how it will directly benefit you, our valued members.
Why the Increase?
You might be wondering why we’re raising our dues now. The simple truth is that the AIAS hasn’t increased its membership dues in over 15 years. This is almost unheard of among membership organizations, which typically adjust dues annually or every few years. The reality is that inflation and the rising costs of providing high-quality services and benefits to our members globally have made this change necessary.
What Does $8 Really Mean?
To put this into perspective, the $8 increase is equivalent to just two cups of coffee, a six-pack of soda, or a couple of metro rides. In exchange, you’re ensuring that the AIAS can continue to grow and enhance the support we offer to you. This small increase allows us to maintain and expand the resources, programming, and opportunities that are at the heart of your membership experience.
Enhancing Your Membership Value
This isn’t just about keeping the lights on—it’s about making your membership even more valuable. We are actively exploring new partnerships and sponsorships to bring you more events, better conference programming, and exclusive opportunities. These initiatives are designed to enrich your experience, connect you with industry leaders, and provide you with tools that will be invaluable as you pursue your career in architecture.
Accessibility and Inclusivity
We understand that for some, even a small increase can be a challenge, which is why we’re committed to ensuring that no one is excluded from the AIAS due to financial constraints. For this reason we continue to offer the Membership Grant Campaign, which provides full or partial scholarships for those who qualify. We’re also working on new partnerships with organizations, architecture firms and alumni to support students and schools in obtaining memberships.
Your Voice Matters
If you’re not yet a member, or if you haven’t renewed your membership yet, there’s still time to join at the current rate of $47. Sign up before October 1st to lock in the lower rate! After that, the new dues rate will apply, but we’re confident that the value you’ll receive in return will far outweigh the cost.
