THRIVE PANEL PREMIERE EVENT:
Architecture and Hybrid Structures: Maximizing the Benefits of Structural Steel and Wood Floors
The AIAS is hosting its first Thrive Webinar Watch Party of the semester on Friday, November 4th at 4:00 pm ET. Those who watch the webinar are eligible to receive 1.0 HSW credits. There will be instructions at the beginning of the webinar on how to register to receive your HSW credits.
The design of hybrid steel-timber structures is a relatively new building typology that has multi-disciplinary considerations that affect the design and building performance. You’ll learn about the architectural benefits and get a broad overview of technical considerations when designing using steel frames and wood floors. The sustainable performance of the hybrid system is compared to that of other systems, and a case study will follow a building’s concept through construction. This webinar is for all levels, covering general concepts and using clear imagery that could help you visualize those wall sections!
