Good Standing is a category that we give to our Chapters that are active and involved with our organization, meeting all the requirements set in our ByLaws.

Whether your chapter is in Good Standing or not makes a noticeable difference in the benefits you might be able to access as a chapter, and your overall experience in the AIAS.

A Chapter In Good Standing means:

  1. Your chapter is able to use the AIAS name and logo.
  2. Your chapter will be covered by our insurance (only applicable for chapters located in the U.S.).
  3. Your chapter respresentative is able to vote during the Counsil of Presidents Meetings.
  4. Your members can apply to be candidates for the Board of Directors.
  5. Your chapter can cast a vote during our elections.
  6. Your members can be part of our Committees and Task Forces.
  7. Your chapter and members are considered eligible for the AIAS Honor Awards
  8. Your chapter is eligible for Freedom by Design grant funding

To be in Good Standing, your chapter must meet the following requirements:

    • Fill out the Update Your Chapter Information Form.
    • Fill out at least one of the quarterly Chapter Check-In Forms.

2. A member of your leadership team attends at least one of your director’s monthly meetings per semester.

3. The chapter meets the minimum number of members with active memberships in our portal. This number is determined according to the size of your school’s program:
