Describe your studio culture:
Our studio is based on collective corrections and presentations. We are always learning from each other’s work through successful or failing designs, while constantly helping and ameliorating other students’ projects, leading to a more efficient and effective design process.
Give one tip that has helped you succeed in studio:
Always experiment with something new and different: software, materials, techniques. These will broaden your knowledge and strengthen your skills.
What motivates you to work hard in studio:
The pride in my final design result, always displaying all the thought and hard work that was given into it.
What aspect of your studio experience do you think will help you get a job?
The most important aspect is time management, that we managed to master during our architecture studies, along with the efficient teamwork ethic that is present in all our studios. In addition, facing my classmates’ design corrections and presentations on very different types of projects has enlarged my experience in multiple fields in architecture.
What can professors do to create a helpful and supportive studio culture?
Always encourage their current students to accomplish better results and more interesting projects than the previous generation, providing an inviting studio environment, through constructive criticism and always being available for additional feedback.
What should a high school student understand about studio at my university:
Your studio will be your new home, working daily with your new family, pushing through life in a completely new lifestyle.
What can AIAS do to help improve your studio experience:
Establishing connections with older students and professionals, in addition to providing a platform to break the routine of university life, and to get away from the hustle of studios.
What would be in your ideal studio care package:
Charging plugs, tape, cutter, food and coffee. A lot of coffee.
