Each month, the AIAS highlights the outstanding dedication and accomplishments of one of its members. The Chapter Leader of the Month can be a Chapter President or any member who has shown tremendous leadership.

 

   

May 2024 Chapter Leader of the Month: Mason Andersen

Spokane Community College

Mason is a second-year student in Architectural Technology at Spokane Community College. He does a great job of chairing our weekly meetings, eliciting excitement about the AIAS and keeping the chapter moving forward with initiatives. He has helped with fundraising by helping to design and draft homes for people willing to donate to the chapter. Most recently he worked to raise money for the West Quad trip even though he is not able to attend.

During his first year of school, he was hired at MW Engineering as a BIM operator and over the course of the following year he was promoted to lighting designer. In addition to being a full-time student. Mason won second place in the yearly AIA Student Design Awards and always designed projects that were admired by his teachers and classmates. He believes that his love for architecture will help him be a great lighting designer.

His personality type is the INTJ.
