The American Institute of Architecture Students (AIAS) is pleased to announce the jury for the 2019 In Studio: Portfolio competition. All participating juror members are currently working for the competition’s firm sponsor, LS3P Associates LTD. This winter, the AIAS asked members to showcase their professional portfolios by submitting to the In Studio: Portfolio Competition. The In Studio competition series was established to give students the opportunity to showcase their studio work on a national platform.

The top ten In Studio: Portfolio finalists will have the opportunity to interview for an internship at LS3P Associates LTD. The top three winners will recieve both a cash prize and have their winning submission featured on www.aias.org. Good luck to all those who submitted!

Zachary Schultz

Zachary Schultz, AIA, works extensively in designs for the Higher Education Sector. Zachary earned a Bachelor of Architecture from the University of Tennessee and joined LS3P’s Charlotte office in 2015. He was recognized as an Associate in 2017; during this time he has been actively engaged in the professional community, including serving as YAF Leadership Program Chair and member of the Workforce Advisory Group for AIA Charlotte.

 

 

Sandra Grzemski

Sandra Grzemski, Associate AIA, has developed a diverse portfolio of designs for transportation, higher education, recreation, adaptive reuse, military, retail, senior living and multifamily housing. Sandra earned both a Bachelor of Arts in Architecture from The University of Illinois and a Master of Architecture with a specialty in Urbanism from UNC Charlotte where she was awarded The Excellence in Urbanism Book Award for her Thesis Work. She is the recipient of AIA Charlotte’s 2014 Emerging Professional of the Year and is Founding Chair/Past Chair of AIA Charlotte’s Women in Architecture committee.

 

Nathan Daniel

Nathan Daniel, AIA, LEED AP, is a Principal and Project Manager in LS3P’s Charlotte office. A graduate of Auburn University with a Bachelor of Architecture, Nathaniel is also the firm’s Faith Practice Leader and serve on the Business Development team. His portfolio includes a broad range of designs for worship, office, retail, entertainment, mixed-use, and streetscape projects.

 

 

Jaime Henderson

Jaime Henderson, AIA, is an Associate Principal in LS3P’s Greenville office with experience in variety of project types including institutional, corporate, municipal, sports, recreational, residential, religious, medical, and judicial. Jaime, who earned a Bachelor of Science in Design from Clemson University and a Master of Architecture from Arizona State University, recently designed a tiny house for his farm which was featured on HGTV.

 

 

Nicole Brown

Nicole Brown, AIA, is an Associate in LS3P’s Charlotte office. A graduate of the University of North Carolina at Charlotte with both a Bachelor of Arts in Architecture and a Bachelor of Architecture, Nicole is currently serving as Director of the Young Architects Forum for AIA Charlotte. She has developed a significant portfolio of workplace projects and serves as the lead project manager for a Fortune 500 regional energy company client.

 

 

Julie Barghout

Julie Barghout, AIA, is an Associate in LS3P’s Raleigh office. Julie, a graduate of NC State University with a Master of Architecture and the University of North Carolina at Greensboro with a Bachelor of Science in Interior Architecture, has a diverse portfolio of designs for civic, higher ed, commercial, and worship clients. She leads bi-weekly “Design Du Jour” sessions for continuing education focused on design case studies and issues.
