Beginning in 2023 the AIA began an exploration into adding students, and others, into their purview as a membership organization. Since being approved by the AIA Board of Directors in early 2024 the next step is for it to be approved at the AIA Annual Business Meeting on June 5th, 2024. The AIAS would like to share it’s official stance on the proposal for our members and AIA Delegates to see ahead of the AIA Business Meeting next month.

Following the release of the AIAS Board of Directors Official Statement, past Presidents and Vice Presidents of the AIAS came together to reiterate the position of the current AIAS Board of Directors and demonstrate their opposition to the proposed category of student membership in AIA.
