Describe your studio culture:

My studio culture is diverse and open in the sense that classmates feel comfortable enough to critique each other’s work.

Give one tip that has helped you succeed in studio:

Staying organized and communicating with others about projects has helped me succeed in studio.

What motivates you to work hard in studio:

My peers as well as a future in design both motivate me to work harder in studio.

What aspect of your studio experience do you think will help you get a job?

An aspect of my studio experience that will definitely help me get a job is the ability to think and consider multiple things at once when solving a problem, developed through working on different studio projects that asked us to explore and identify different design problems.

What can professors do to create a helpful and supportive studio culture?

Professors create a more helpful and supportive studio culture through always asking questions, communicating well with students and guiding students through the design process carefully so as to let them truly develop ideas that are their own.

What should a high school student understand about studio at my university:

A high school student should understand that studio at my university is intense, a bit stressful and awesome all at the same time.

What can AIAS do to help improve your studio experience:

AIAs can help improve the studio experience by continuing to provide opportunities that allow us to grow both professionally and as designers, exposing us to the parts of the world that can help us think more critically and solve problems.

What would be in your ideal studio care package:

My ideal studio care package would include coffee, a few rolls of drafting tape (or masking tape), a roll of tracing paper, thumb tacks (because they always seem to get lost), and chocolate (because you can never have too much).

I love studio because:

It allows me to interact with a diverse range of like-minded people while working on becoming the kind of designer I am meant to be.
