This month, the AIAS Staff has been attending NCARB Licensure presentations at chapters in the D.C. area. We traveled to Chapters at the University of the District of Columbia, University of Maryland, and Catholic University. This week, we’ll be at Howard University!
The presentations went over establishing your IDP hours with NCARB and how to prepare for the ARE exams. The main message? Don’t be afraid! While it might seem like a daunting process, the sooner you start the better. Did you know you can start logging IDP hours as early as high school graduation?
We also had a chance to meet some of the AIAS chapter presidents at these schools. We saw many new faces at Grassroots last July, but this opportunity allowed us to interact on a more personal level. Seeing the genuine enthusiasm of all the Presidents and membership reminded me why AIAS is a special place to work.
As we start the new school year, we appreciate all of your patience and support. If you’re in the D.C. area, don’t forget to make plans to visit us at the National Office. We had one member come in September and we’d like to see more. We might even have some gifts for you! If you’re already based in D.C., come learn more about NCARB at Howard University in the Mackey Building, Smart Room #150 on Wednesday, September 24th at 5:30PM.
