Being a good leader takes more than great leadership skills. It also means taking care of yourself: mind, body, and soul! This year during the AIAS Grassroots Leadership Conference will feature a new track of content this year focusing on lifestyle.
To AIAS, lifestyle sessions are meant to help our members grow on a more personal level and to learn that life is not only about work. Here are some highlights of what you can expect in this new track.
Personal Development: Understanding Thinking Styles and Skills for Working Effectively with Others
Attendees will be able to do a Life Styles Inventory (LSI) assessment. The LSI provides feedback on an individual’s thinking and behavioral patterns and will help attendees gain a clearer understanding of their personal, management and leadership styles. Following discussions will center on strategies to strengthen effective communication and leadership.
Citizen HKS
As the non-profit arm of HKS, Citizen HKS began by providing professional design services to social and community projects, but has since expanded to include fundraising and volunteering efforts through a program called the “Global Month of Service.”
Getting your Sh*t Together: How to balance creativity with organization
In this session, we’ll cover life planning and operations from the clouds to the dirt. How should you go about planning your career? What can you do on a daily basis to ensure you’re taking incremental steps to get there? What can you do from 9-5 and then outside of working hours to ensure you balance a successful career with maintaining your sanity. We’ll talk jobs, hobbies, books, podcasts, movies, and anything else that informs a better life.
Connecting With The World Through Art
Learn how one’s journey of travelling and sketching helped her live in the here and now. After years of traveling with a Canon SLR, it was her turn to be the camera and bring her senses to life. In the process she discovered a love for sketching and how it slowed her down and helped her be more mindful. Hear about her journey, processes, and experiences and set out to sketch together in this workshop.
